OUR EVENT //

The forum aims to encourage young males to re-evaluate their perspectives on the pivotal issues concerning young men’s health and provide them with the tools to enhance decision-making. The forum uses a combination of keynote speakers and small group discussions to help young men have a conversation about a range of important issues concerning their wellbeing.

SPEAKERS //

SMALL GROUPS //

The forum utilises expert speakers to inform, engage and influence students on pivotal issues concerning young men’s health. These issues can include mental health, body image, violence, healthy relationships, drugs, resilience and leadership. Some of our past speakers have included Father Chris Riley, Peter Overton, Phil Gould, Peter Fitzsimons, Dr. Scott Griffiths and The Hon. Gladys Berejiklian.

Following each speaker, small group sessions will be used to reinforce key principles, stimulate discussion between students and provide students with the practical tools  to deal with these issues. Students will be individually assigned to a group at the forum, and each group will consist of students from different schools.

'The topics were well selected for the audience. Speakers were engaging, each giving a powerful message to Year 10 males regarding the choices they make and the consequences, both short and term, for their actions. A genuine heartfelt message'
THOMAS FREELAND // Teacher
De La Salle Ashfield

'Very informative and moving day, that all the boys will take something away from. It tells the boys that there is always help out there for them and that all they need to do is to have a conversation about speak about their issues'
KIARA WILSON // Teacher
Killarney Heights High School

'I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the variety of speakers. It was great they had a different story and background. The day was extremely well organised . The students were able to sit and listen to wonderful real life stories, but then have regular discussions breaks with people they didn't know. An amazing opportunity for our young men'
SCOTT LEBENS // Year 10 Advisor Assistant
Kingswood High School

'Brilliant forum, the boys were completely engaged and really connected to the messages and issues being addressed. This should be a compulsory event for all schools, like cross roads, as it is incredibly relevant and important that young men discuss mental health, healthy relationships, body image and other issues addressed'

JAMES ARONIS // Teacher
St Andrews College Marayong
